Early ArcheAge Was Very Different

This early ArcheAge tech demo from 2010, dug up by LostEphixia on Reddit, features a much different direction for ArcheAge than the one we have today. It focuses almost entirely on deformable terrain made possible by ArcheAge running on CryEngine, showing a player launching fireballs at wooden bridges and other structures and bringing them down in a realistic and satisfying way.

As those who have played ArcheAge might have noticed, this stuff isn’t in the game we have now. The sandbox gameplay went in a direction other than allowing one to smash everything in sight. But it’s fun to take a look back at what might have been.
