Economic Exploit Discovered in ArcheAge

ArcheAge players got a little tired of praying to RNGesus recently and found a way to cheat the system. What’s the evil opposite of RNGesus, RNGeezlebub?

If he exists, these players made a deal with him. The exploit allowed players to force the game to give the loot they wanted when they opened random boxes. Other economic exploits were reported as well.

That party seems to be over. Trion Worlds said it’s investigating the exploit and any ill-gotten gains it discovers will be reversed.

“We’re investigating the reports of something untoward with the Marketplace. If and when confirmed, we are capable of tracking and reversing gains made using it. As is standard per our exploit policies, accounts found to be abusing an exploit will be actioned. This means if you exploit to gain a thing, you’re going to lose said thing at minimum. The thing to do when discovering an exploit is to report it, not abuse it. As a precaution, we have shut off the Marketplace to prevent further exploit abuse,” ArcheAge Community Manager Evan “Scapes” Berman said in a statement.

Berman did clarify that Trion won’t be going after those who got caught up in the exploit unknowingly or by accident.

So stick with RNGesus, guys. Avoid the temptations of the evil one.
